This palace is one of the major landmarks of Eisenstadt, capital town of the province of Burgenland. It was built in the late 13th century as a medieval castle. After becoming the main residence of the Esterházy family in the 17th century, the building was remodelled to a baroque, later to a Neoclassical palace.
