View in northwestern direction to the Opéra Garnier. Between its completion in 1875 and 1989, this building was the primary home of the Paris Opera and the associated ballet. The Paris Opera then moved to the newly built Opéra Bastille, whereas the Opéra Garnier is mainly used for ballet performances.
