View from Île de la Barthelasse in E direction. This 12th-century stone arch bridge once spanned both branches of the Rhône. Only four of the arches remain. The bridge is a major landmark of Avignon and has become famous through the 15th-century folk song "Sur le pont d'Avignon". The cathedral and the Palais des Papes appear in the right portion of the photo.
