Mianyuan River Valley

The landslides induced by the Wenchuan Earthquake of May 12, 2008 have mobilized an enormous amount of rock and debris material. Consequently, subsequent rainfall events have resulted in huge debris flows and increased sediment transport reshaping entire valleys and severely affecting the infrastructures.
