Lake Baikal | Sunset at Tankhoy

Lake Baikal, the deepest lake and the most voluminous freshwater lake in the World, fills an active rift valley. The lake is more than 20 million years old, characterized by clear water, and rich in biodiversity. Sediments at the bottom serve as an important paleoclimatic record.
