The NW slope of this mountain is characterized by massive slope deformations. The unvegetated area in the centre of the picture is the result of a landslide which took place just a few months before. Since a sudden acceleration of the sliding, possibly affecting the villages of Entrèves and La Palud, cannot be ruled out, this slope is subject of extensive research and monitoring.
