Fox Glacier

Location: Westland/Tai Poutini NP. Fully exposed to the cool and humid air brought by the prevailing westerly winds, the accumulation areas of the glaciers west of the divide receive a huge amount of snowfall. This results in low equilibrium lines and glacier tongues terminating close to the sea level, here disappearing under a dense layer of clouds.
