Cordillera de la Sal | Valle de la Luna

Late afternoon view. The Cordillera de la Sal consists of a sequence of clastic and evaporitic sedimentary layers evolved in and around an ancient salt flat as well as of pyroclastic deposits. The entire package has been tilted and folded due to tectonic compression. In some places, the rock is covered by sand dunes.
