Forêt de Bélouve

WI_re099.jpg

The northeastern slopes of La Réunion are fully exposed to the raising air masses brought by the tradewinds. Frequent orographic rainfall supports lush montane rainforests rich in tree ferns. Even though these forests are used for timber production, part of the Forêt de Bélouve remains in a natural or at least near-natural state.
