Soufrière Hills Volcano | Sulfur dioxide emissions

WI_la426.jpg

Slope of the lava dome. Lava domes have formed and collapsed after the reactivation of this volcano in 1995. Numerous ash falls, pyroclastic flows, and lahars were recorded. Even though no more notable eruptions occurred between 2012 and 2019, sulfur dioxide emissions still indicate some low level of activity. Future eruptions cannot be ruled out.
