Forests of Canary Island pine (Pinus canariensis) are the dominant type of vegetation between roughly 1000 m and the tree line above 2000 m elevation on Tenerife, but also some of the other islands of the archipelago. This solitary pine tree grows at approx. 2350 m asl.
