The Port Vell Aerial Tramway connects the seaside part of Barcelona with the slope of Montjuïc, supported by the 107 m high Torre Jaume I halfway. This tourist attraction opened in 1929, two years after the World's Fair for which it was originally intended. The original cabins were still in operation when this photo was taken.
