Wetlands in the altiplano are usually found along streams such as the Río Putana shown in this scene. Known as vegas or bofedales, they form green spots in the otherwise arid puna landscape. View in SE direction, some vicuñas and Volcán Sairecabur (5971 m) appear in the background.
