Haleakalā Crater

WI_hw301e.jpg

View from Halemauu Trail into the Haleakalā Crater. However, this depression is most likely not of volcanic origin. Instead it represents the head of two erosional valleys. Haleakalā was last erupting at some time in the period between 1480 and 1790.
