Khait Rock Avalanche and Yasman Valley

This rock avalanche was triggered by a major earthquake on July 10, 1949. It destroyed the village of Khait, leading to the death of hundreds, maybe thousands of people. The same earthquake also triggered many loess landslides in the Yasman Valley (central backgound), coalescing to a catastrophic loess flow.
