Acheron Rock Avalanche | Panorama

Location: near Porters Pass. The rock avalanche of several millions of cubic metres, which travelled for a distance of 3.5 km, was probably triggered by a strong earthquake approx. 1100 years ago. The release area is seen in the right centre, the deposit in the central background of the picture.
