Trounson Kauri Park | Subtropical rainforest

Kauri (Agathis australis, Araucariaceae) is considered one of the most ancient tree species. Formerly more widespread in new Zealand's North, its habitat has been reduced in size by human intervention. In this picture, the two prominent stems belong to kauri trees.
